SEP Technical was founded in 1986 to provide specialist investigation services to Architects, Structural Engineers, and Construction companies throughout the UK.
Over the last 40 years, we have worked on thousands of projects, from Airports to Zoos and everything in between, and we pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our clients, some of whom have worked with us since day one.
Our site teams include experienced Geotechnical Engineers, Materials Testing Technicians, and Surveyors, available nationwide to meet your project requirements.
All of our site teams are supported by UKAS-accredited laboratories that conduct the testing of samples collected from your site.

Geotechnical Testing Services
We analyse the site quality and identify remediation techniques best suited to your site and tailored to your project for maximum effectiveness. Understanding ground conditions is essential for securing planning permission and adhering to building regulations. Our testing services include:

In-Situ Testing
We conduct vibration monitoring on construction sites to prevent damage to the structure being built and neighbouring buildings. Data analysis can identify potential issues before any structural damage occurs, and keep your project compliant and safe for your workers and local residents.
UKAS-Accredited Laboratory Testing
All the samples we collect are tested in a UKAS-Accredited geotechnical and materials testing laboratory that meets international research standards.
During our phase 2 site investigations, we’ll conduct intrusive investigation works to collect samples for analysis. Our laboratory tests will identify contaminants on the site and the area’s geotechnical properties. Tests that we carry out include:
- BS 1377 soil testing
- Specification for Highway Works (SHW) testing
- ISRM, BRE, and BSEN methods
